AKUAIPPA HOSTAL RESTAURANT

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. It was very clean, modern, and well maintained. The rooms are modern, the beds are comfortable, and everything felt fresh and tidy. We especially enjoyed the clean, refreshingly cool pool with a river in the background – very relaxing. Another lovely detail is the presence of many cute animals on the property, including a parrot, ducks, and cats, which creates a really nice and peaceful atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and we were able to leave our backpacks there, which was super convenient. The Wi-Fi worked very well throughout our stay. The food in the evening was excellent, with many vegetarian options, which is quite rare compared to other places in the village. Just a small note: food is only available in the evening since the chef is only there at that time, but that wasn’t an issue for us. The hotel is easy to reach and overall a great place to relax. We would definitely stay here again and can highly recommend it!

I wanted to know the situation beforehand, but the hostel seemed promising from the reviews. When I tried to contact them, they never answered, which felt odd. We arrived and started knocking, yet no one opened the door; because it was late, we asked nearby shopkeepers and bar owners for help, and they tried calling the owner but got no reply. We nearly had to sleep on the street until two very kind guys found us a room at another hostel after about two hours. The next day the owner didn't even call to apologize—nothing at all. It was truly dangerous and disrespectful. Stay away.

“Family of four had an excellent time in Calabazo!”

Akuaippa hotel was lovely. We very much enjoyed our stay. The rooms were exactly as shown in the pictures. Everything was clean and well maintained. The host Maria was very helpful. We don't speak Spanish, but we were able to communicate using Google translate. The wifi was great, no issues. The food was good, simple fare with large portions. They had beer, alcohol, and water available. The pool was lovely and refreshing. There are several seating areas and pool tables available for guests to enjoy. We were the only ones staying at the hotel, and hope that this very good review will encourage you to stay here. From Calabazo, Maria arranged a car to take us to the El Zaino entrance of Tayrona Park. On the way home we caught the local bus for 4,000 pesos each. The local buses are very frequent and perfectly serviceable. The bus stopped just 30 meters from the hotel entrance. Maria also helped us arrange a car back to the Marsol office in Santa Marta when our time in Calabazo was over

“Confortable”
