“The nastiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in”
The location was good, but the rooms were outdated and dirty.

First of all, it’s no longer called the Red Roof; the map shows a different name, and it’s listed as an abandoned hotel that needs fixing, which shows a lot of potential but also a lot of neglect. The incident with us was a huge misunderstanding, so when we arrived it was chaotic. We went to the George Strait concert, and the ticket prices were absurd. Overall, it was a sad experience.

I managed to get a room after the hotel told me my reservation was canceled even though I had already paid, so at least I had a place to sleep that night. However, my reservation was canceled, and I was shuffled around trying to get a room, which caused me to be late for the George Strait concert I paid a lot for, ruining my night. The TV didn’t work; I had to plug it in myself, and then it had lines on the screen.

The place was quiet, but the elevator wasn’t working.

The bed sheets were visibly dirty (a grayish‑black stain was clearly not clean). The floor had a sticky red liquid on it, probably from a previous guest’s drink or something worse, and it wasn’t cleaned properly. The curtains were torn, and the window faced the lobby, giving no privacy at all. The air conditioning was uncontrollable, making it extremely cold; the air quality was terrible, and breathing made me cough.
