“Host straordinario per soggiorno a ritmi lenti”

Great for walkers and pilgrims. A family‑sized structure that’s super welcoming. The host was really friendly and open. Dinner featured garden produce prepared by him. Just outside Montemignaio in a very quiet hamlet. The mattress and pillow were comfortable. Unfortunately the wifi didn’t work, but Matthias offered to use his phone as a router. The furnishings and layout are typical of a stopover place; don’t expect the luxuries of fake hostels.

Matthias, the host, is truly extraordinary, and Montemignaio itself feels magical.

The hostel sits in a great spot for exploring nearby sights and walking the many trails and routes around the area, not just the Camino de Santiago. Matthias runs the place and knows all the paths, so he can give you top tips. The home‑cooked food is excellent in a friendly, welcoming setting, and Matthias is very hospitable. I also pointed out the fresh water springs right next door, plus a forest with streams and picnic tables for dining. The rooms are very clean.

Mathias is an exceptional host and an outstanding cook! If you stop in Montemignaio—whether you’re a pilgrim or not—you have to stay here!
