Nice, clean and comfy room; staff were very friendly and helped recommend takeaway spots after the kitchen closed, even offering plates and utensils to my room because I arrived late.

The Heart of England hotel, pub, and restaurant is set in Weedon Bec, 8 miles west of Northampton, close to the M1. This 18th-century farmhouse conversion offers B&B rooms with en-suite showers, flat-screen TVs, and tea/coffee facilities. A full English breakfast and pub menu are served. The hotel features a beer garden, children's playground, and Milton Keynes is 30 minutes away.

The breakfast was excellent, and the staff were very attentive, but the bathroom could have been a little cleaner.

The single room was small and the TV remote didn’t work, but since it was only for one night it didn’t bother me too much.

The laid‑back vibe meant nothing was too much trouble, but more staff were needed in the morning for breakfast; it shouldn’t be a one‑person job.
