Xingshengjiu Courtyard Hotel Pingyao

The hotel kept a classic Chinese vibe and the rooms were massive, fully equipped – even plastic slippers for rainy strolls. They arranged a driver for our trip to the Wang Compound, which was handy. Breakfast was a typical Chinese spread, not really what we’re used to, and the lobby felt a bit drab.

“Caratteristico”

Location couldn't be better and the building itself is really charming. Unfortunately the room reeked of naphthalene and the extra double bed was surprisingly low, which made it uncomfortable.

Staff were super friendly and the room was clean and tidy; the courtyard added a nice touch, making the whole stay pleasant.

The room was lovely and the bed very comfortable, and the staff were attentive even though their English was limited. The only downside was the food – it was all traditional Chinese with no Western options.
