Located by Strandafjord in Hallingdal, Topcamp Hallingdal - Ål is a 2 km walk from Ål train station and 25 km from Geilo's ski slopes. The spot sits in a quiet, picturesque riverside setting and outdid our hopes. The house was open, bright, and featured a terrace with a river view where curious ducks even stopped by. The outdoor play area for kids was fantastic, and my children—9, 5, and 2—spend at least two hours there before we had to leave. It was the best place we stayed during our week in Norway.

The facilities were great. We stayed in the stilts cabin—an experience. The whole area was excellent for both adults and kids, with a bike park and a climbing park. The food at the bistro by the reception was good, and the bike trail along the river was lovely.
