Too noisy for us

The room was great, warm and lovely, the food was wonderful, the steak was awesome, and the service was excellent with very friendly staff.

I didn't find anyone to serve breakfast, so we had to go somewhere else. Even though we had booked breakfast, we were told we still had to mention it in person, and nobody mentioned that at check‑in. The bed itself was uncomfortable.

The central spot is great, but the facilities are pretty basic.

The refurbished room was lovely and spotless. Breakfast energized us for the day and was handled by a very nice lady. Dining in the restaurant was good and reasonably priced. The hotel has plenty of nice bar areas and is well located in Thurso. However, the private event that ran until 1 am on the Saturday night we stayed made it hard to sleep because the music and noise seeped into our room; we expected it to finish at midnight.
