Avenue du Château offers bright rooms overlooking a lush garden, each with a private bathroom, complimentary Wi‑Fi, bathrobes and premium toiletries. Guests start the day with a buffet of fresh pastries, cheeses and fruit, then can relax at the outdoor barbecue or stay fit in the on‑site gym.

The old house is cozy, and the hostess—originally from Germany but has lived in France for a long time—went out of her way to arrange a dinner table for us, which isn’t easy in the countryside. The house has a lot of charm, even though it’s currently under renovation (Sept. 26). The communal kitchen in the guest area is fine. Everything was clean, and the garden is also cozy. Overall, we felt comfortable and had a pleasant night. I’m not a big fan of the bathroom and shower being separate in the room; a better privacy screen would improve the layout, and the small screen only does the bare minimum. Many things seem fragile, like the staircase railing, and for guests with mobility issues the attic room we had was less suitable because of the narrow stairs. There was no wardrobe (or I didn’t see one), but that wasn’t a big problem for one night. The round bed was a bit odd at first, but we slept well. Once the renovations finish, the place will likely be even easier and more comfortable. Parking outside the property was fine, at least until the hostess asked us to keep the front gate closed because unwanted people often wander there… ;-)

A charming house with character and an equally charming host.

Petra and Eddy were incredibly friendly, available and proactive, treating us with great care; the tiny kitchen was practical and charming, and sipping coffee or an aperitif in the magical little garden was delightful—go for it! The only drawback was that the third bed was in the bathroom and toilet, but that’s fine for a couple.
