The setting, greenery, garden, room, cozy and original décor, and very comfortable bedding made for a great stay.
“Speciaal”
The building itself is special, with tasteful décor and finishing; the garden entrance is a door in a long wall.
“Magnifique”
The setting is gorgeous.
The house’s style and its surroundings were a highlight.
“Netter Zwischenstop mit Abstrichen. Bettwäsche waschen!”
The location is a bit outside the city and the rooms open onto a small enchanted garden or courtyard where you can sit nicely on good weather, surrounded by lovely plants and trees. However, the garden lets you look into all the rooms if you wish. In the lower rooms, a distinctly musty smell is noticeable. Our room was under the roof, extremely hot, and was not ventilated before we arrived. The windows on the upper floor can only be opened with a stick, which is a bit complicated to use. The thin duvet cover common in France was missing, so we slept under a duvet that hadn’t been freshly washed. Towels were minimal, only one medium per person. Water pressure was at best adequate. The trash bin had no bag. The hosts were shy and very distant. The main issue was the complete lack of Wi‑Fi, which remained unchanged even after repeated requests, supposedly due to a new installation—this is hard to believe.
