The welcome from the doorman was excellent.

The paths were dark and unlit, there was no reception or housekeeping, keys were handed over by an Indian builder who didn’t speak German, there were no German‑speaking staff, no way to get drinks or food, the stairs were steep, there was no elevator, and the noise, dirt, and smell from construction inside and around the hotel made it a catastrophe.

The whole place felt like a construction site.

There was no breakfast, and the side entrance was hard to reach. The beds were impossible, and the pillows should have been cleaned. Everything could have been a bit cleaner. During the renovation there was a lot of dust and dirt.
