The location was nice. The facility was quite worn and shabby. The night temperature dropped to 2 degrees, but heating was only via an old, noisy air‑conditioner that didn’t heat. I was very cold and had to cover myself with a blanket. They left a water tap open, but it was filled with a promotional cardboard.

“Great place, lovely staff, great food, parking A1.”

The spot‑on location was great, though I was worried about parking as a disabled guest; the car park was full on arrival but they managed to find a spot. The room was okay and comfortable, but the bed was too soft for me, so I asked for it to be firmed up and it was; my wife loved her bed. We saw the parking lot from our window, but we spent more time outside. The staff were cheerful, polite, and pleasant to chat with. The food was excellent; we had breakfast and a few other meals, and the prices matched those of dining out with great service. I would stay again. The bed firmness is a concern for disabled guests who sometimes need a firmer bed, so the site should be updated. Also, the hotel automatically charged my credit card the night before; I would have preferred to pay by cash or e‑Fpos. I use a credit card only when necessary, so this forced me to make an extra effort to pay it off. Please give guests the option to choose how they pay.

“Considering it was nearly $500 a night it was not worth the money unfortunately”

The location was great. The room was terribly hot even though the air‑con was on, and the fridge was so noisy I had to get up at night and unplug it. We arrived at 4:30 pm and had to wait about half an hour for the room to be checked; the hotel car park was full, so we paid $112 to park in a nearby lot.

“If location is all that matters stay here, otherwise I'd avoid.”

If location matters most, Novotel Queenstown is perfect. The breakfast offers good value, and kids eat for free at the buffet. But the beds and rooms are tiny—like traveling in Tokyo, the beds were so small. The curtains were ripped, the ceiling had heavy marks, and the room smelled like a wet dog. Guest parking is limited, and you can't assume you'll get valet service. On top of that, the hotel charged our credit card twice for our stay, resulting in an unexpected surcharge that we can't get refunded. It was the most expensive hotel on our two‑week New Zealand trip and the dirtiest and least impressive, but that's what you get for staying in a popular tourist town!

“Great location.”

The location is great, right in the centre of Queenstown. The property looks run‑down and needs a makeover.
