Great location in Matera’s Sassi, just 5 minutes from a safe parking garage (listed on Google Maps as “Parcheggio Comunale Via Vena”). The apartment is beautiful, modern, spacious, and well equipped. The bathroom is stunning, and the small sauna is a nice bonus. Upon arrival we found a bottle of Prosecco, water, coffee, toast, jam, and taralli—very nice. The bed is especially comfortable, and the nighttime view of the illuminated old town is wonderful; the area is still quiet in the evenings. Restaurant tip: across from the apartment is Radino, where dinner was an extraordinary experience—booking is highly recommended. A personal welcome with a brief tour of the apartment would have improved our stay. For example, we didn’t discover the dishes and glasses until the second day because the cabinet is built right into the kitchen entrance and easy to overlook. The couch in the living room is covered with a large cloth, but it isn’t the newest and could be replaced. A minor issue, but the unclean floor in front of the apartment door and on the patio dampened the overall impression. Adding higher‑quality, more comfortable seating on the patio and a few plants would improve the overall feel.
