The location right at the national park entrance was convenient. I accidentally booked a room with a shared bathroom, so the hotel upgraded me for free, which was nice. The room itself was clean, had free water, and the bed was comfortable. However, the staff forced me to write a “positive only” review or they’d charge me for the upgrade, which I refused and said I’d leave an honest review after checkout. On the bright side, they helped me book a bus back to SG. The facilities were in bad shape: the advertised pool was unusable—greenish and unsafe on arrival, then empty the next day. The surrounding area was dirty with trash everywhere, no place to relax and enjoy the river view, which was a major let‑down. Breakfast was very basic, only eggs or Vietnamese soup, some bread and a few fruits, which could be fine for a cheap hotel but far below what the price demands. Even though the owner was friendly, the staff’s pressure to write a positive review (or face extra charges) was unprofessional and led to this honest review.

The view was beautiful, but booking a room on the hill made it a bit difficult to reach.

Cat Tien is a rare gem, its secluded spot is truly a draw. When they claim “jungle” they mean jungle, perched on the bend of two rivers, close to a monkey sanctuary, it’s a remarkable setting, and then when you receive such excellent service from the staff, superb food, and an English‑speaking owner eager to explain the hotel’s history and surroundings, it really becomes a “must‑stay” place. You’ll love it – trust me! The only downside was that there wasn’t much to dislike; we were happy overall.

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The location and building itself were lovely, but the staff's lack of English made communication a real challenge, especially when we had a misunderstanding about our booking. To make matters worse, they sold us an overpriced tour of the Cat Tien national park, but failed to provide any assistance with organizing it. The contrast between the hotel's potential and the staff's shortcomings was quite striking.
