A quiet spot in the middle of Tokyo, only about 400 m from a subway stop and a 7‑Eleven nearby, yet the room felt cramped with no window to open. There was barely any place to hang clothes—no wardrobe, just a single chair. The breakfast area looked like a kindergarten: low tables, stools, a very limited menu that was bland and dull. After a 12‑hour flight we just wanted to rest, but although the room was ready at 12:00, the manager demanded an extra 3000 Yen (17 €) for early check‑in, which would normally start at 15:00.
