“Little tlc”

The staff were fantastic, very welcoming and honest – I especially liked him. The bathroom floor had stains and was sticky, and the cupboard doors in the kitchen area were missing; a quick update would fix everything.

The price was good. The carpet was sticky, very dated, and the place was noisy.

“Mixed reviews”

The location was perfect for our needs, the manager who booked us in was very friendly, and the beds were very comfortable. However, when booking you should be warned that there is a pub downstairs and loud music lasts until about 4 am. There is a leak in the toilet on the floor, possibly from the sink next door, and the headboards are very old and stained – they should be removed. The room looks tired and just needs some love. There was no window, which was a little unnerving.

The location was great – a 3‑minute walk to Sky City and 3 minutes to Denny’s for cheap breakfast, plus a bus to Wynyard Quarter. Basic supplies of tea, coffee, and milk were available. The bed was very comfortable. The building has three steep flights of stairs. The shower was tiny, with a curtain that’s too short. There wasn’t enough toilet paper and the toilet didn’t flush properly. No instructions were provided for using the induction hob; there was only one small pot and one cup for three people. A microwave would have been better. The TV was terrible, reception was rubbish, and there were hardly any channels, so we couldn’t use Netflix.
