The Inn at Erlowest sits directly on Lake George’s shoreline, offering a private beach, pool with panoramic lake‑mountain views, and a sun terrace with an outdoor fireplace. Housed in a historic building, the adults‑only rooms feature private baths, air‑conditioning, and private balconies or terraces. The on‑site restaurant serves American cuisine with extensive vegetarian, vegan, gluten‑free and dairy‑free options, while nearby Fort William Henry, hiking, skiing, canoeing and cycling provide abundant recreation.

The breakfasts were excellent, and the suite offered a lovely view of the lake. After dinner, a small slice of birthday cake was a nice touch. However, the dinner menu felt expensive, and the filet was overcooked even though I requested it medium; it ended up well done and didn’t justify the $65 price. The suite itself showed a lot of wear, with scuffs on the wooden floor and worn furniture. Dead insects were found on the window sills, and the windows could have used a cleaning. Additionally, the room was smaller than the online photos suggested.

My husband and I enjoyed the breakfast and dinner food, the balcony view, and the staff, and we found the building lovely. That said, the furnishings in our room were worn and needed updating; we were concerned about the chairs because we’re both on the smaller side and worried we might break them.

The hotel was beautiful, but we disliked that the TV was placed in the bedroom area, forcing us to sit on the bed to watch it. The TV itself had an issue.

Breakfast was awesome with large portions and great coffee. The coffee bar on the suite level was convenient, though the coffee wasn’t very tasty. The location and building were very pretty, and the food overall was excellent. Unfortunately, the tub wall in the suite was very high; I fell over the edge and got hurt.
