The place has great character and a great location.

The hotel was close enough to the freeway for us to use it as a stop on a longer trip. Breakfast was decent, the bed was comfortable, it allowed pets, and it even stored my dogs’ special food in the kitchen freezer. The staff were friendly and helpful. However, as a dog‑friendly hotel I expected a clean room, especially after paying extra pet fees. When we arrived, our two small dogs sniffed everywhere, especially at the foot of the bed, and kept returning there. I knelt down and found bits of peanuts and raisins—apparently from trail mix left by a previous guest. Raisin toxicity is a very serious and fatal risk for dogs, so this was a terrible start to our road trip. We were on a 12‑day trip with the dogs, staying in 7 different hotels/Airbnbs, and this was by far the least clean room we stayed in.

The people were friendly and the hotel was beautiful; nothing else to note.
