The garden, the welcome, the location and the good breakfast were nice, but the studio practically has no daylight because it’s under the house, the ventilation in the toilet and shower is very noisy, and the sink doubles as a washbasin.

It’s a shame we only stayed there for one night and couldn’t enjoy Ronald’s Port tasting and Jet’s cooking skills.

We were with friends and really enjoyed our stay in this beautifully renovated house run by a friendly Dutch couple full of heart. The village is picturesque with great views and lovely old houses. Many young people have moved away, but it feels as if time has stayed pleasantly still here. If you’re looking for peace, authenticity and Portuguese village life, this is the place, plus the price‑performance ratio is excellent – highly recommended.

The apartment has everything you need, is spacious and comfortable. The terrace and garden give a stunning view of the Douro valley. Thanks to Jet and Ronald for their warm welcome and kindness.

The room was spacious and the bedding comfortable. Dinner with everyone, punctuated by wine tastings suggested by Romuald to pair with Jet’s dishes, made for a great international evening.
