“Lovely laid back friendly stay in Coimbra”

Lovely guest house. Breakfast was in a shared kitchen with other guests – help yourself and make drinks, with the owners topping up. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The owner greeted us on arrival, gave us a map and highlighted points of interest. That was brilliant and helped us orient ourselves quickly for a 2‑night stay. We also received restaurant recommendations, and those were excellent. Coimbra is hilly and it’s a walk down a steep hill to the town – but we’re used to hills and it wasn’t an issue for us. The only downside was that our room was on the ground floor by the front door and there was some coming and going one night in the early hours which disturbed us a bit – but it wouldn’t stop us from staying again.

The hosts were very friendly, the room and bathroom were hygienic, the beds were comfortable and we slept very well, the breakfast was complete with fresh ingredients, a delicious bread and coffee as described.

The guest house was very pleasant, well decorated, the owners are very attentive and dedicated. The cleaning was perfect. Breakfast is good. The queen room we stayed in is a bit small, the bathroom is tiny. There is no TV or minibar in the room.
