I stayed away from the city center, a quiet spot. There were problems with phone reception, but the issue was within a few kilometres radius.

Very cozy, wonderful staff. This is a fairy‑tale place you want to return to. The nature is divine. The bedding is fresh and soft. The housekeeper kissed me on the cheek goodbye.

Nice walk around the courtyard. The rooms have no windows, so it’s dark. We slept with the door open to let in air.

“A wonderful place that is quiet, clean & welcoming.”

The family who runs the building are so wonderful, kind & welcoming. I was given a tour of the property and learned of its origins . In the evening we played a boardgame and that was so fun to me. They offer you free coffee and tea, one choice that is purely local Latvian herbs. This is a beautiful place and well worth the price and drive! ♥️. I loved everything

Our group was the first and at that moment the only guests. We didn’t expect anything special at first, but we knew it was an old schoolhouse. In reality the place exceeded our expectations to find affordable accommodation as an alternative to staying in a tent. Everything was pleasantly clean and tidy. The road is right nearby, but traffic noise didn’t disturb. The park around the building offers many opportunities for active rest. I believe the hosts will continue developing and improving these opportunities. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for affordable lodging in the Valmiera area or on the coast. There are definitely some things that could be improved and I believe the hosts will keep working on it. If you want to relax, the lounge could have a bit cozier lighting; the current lamps were a little too bright for late‑night relaxation. Also, a soundproofing in the lounge would be good.
