“Disappointing.”
I was hit with a $35 surcharge for parking, a $45 surcharge for early check‑in even though I was only an hour early, and either $7.50 or $15 for two warm bottles of water—couldn’t remember exactly. I didn’t see any vending or ice machines. The “balcony” was just a plastic chair outside the room on a standard outdoor passageway you’d find on any two‑story motel from the 1960s. I had trouble getting the old‑style key into the lock and never figured out how to adjust the room temperature, among other things. To be honest, this is the first time I’ve publicly complained about an overnight stay. At best, Seaway Inn is a simple, standard 1960s‑era motel pretending to be “boutique” so it can charge premium prices. It is well‑located, which explains a lot.
