“Excelente hospedagem, voltaria e recomendo.”
Check‑in was quick and well explained, and the free outdoor parking under trees gives some cars shade. The lodge is large, green, with a nice garden, close to the lake for boat rides and swimming, a peacock enclosure, a pool, a sauna (you have to ask to use it), a game room with billiards, ping‑pong, and foosball, a reading area, and a lounge with TV in the common area. The rooms smell clean, have good bathrooms and showers, liquid soap and shampoo, very comfy beds, fresh linens and towels, a TV, AC, and a mini‑fridge. Outside there’s a small chapel for prayers. Breakfast is tasty and constantly replenished. The bar and restaurant offer drinks and a few snacks, though the snack options are limited and there’s a cutoff time for ordering them. Guapé is a bit far from the capital, but you can take a ferry that cuts the distance to about 35 km; however, most of the road is rough dirt, so we spent roughly 2½ hours getting there, waiting for the ferry, which cost R$ 35.00 each way per car. If you skip the ferry, you’d need to drive about 120 km on highways. We didn’t like how the restaurant handled snack orders: few choices, some items weren’t prepared because the meat was frozen, and they had to focus more on dinner, which is served nightly by request at the reception for R$ 50.00 per person. The restaurant was said to accept orders until 20:00, but one evening at 18:00 we were told they could no longer make snacks. The lodge is 1.5 km from Guapé town, so we had to go into town for food because we didn’t want dinner. I think the lodge could honor its ordering hours and not leave guests unattended during the set times. Adding more menu options and extending the kitchen hours would help guests who stay later chatting and enjoying the leisure time, especially since there are no nearby snack bars or restaurants. That’s the suggestion.
