I couldn’t use the accommodation. I don’t know what lie this person is using, but they scammed me. They cancelled the reservation when we were arriving, never gave us the exact location, and didn’t respond at all. DO NOT FALL FOR IT! IT’S A SCAM!

“Tassa extra”

The room was nice and clean. Being 150 m from the train, I thought it was very close to everything, and it was… but it’s a shame that once we arrived we needed an oxygen cylinder for the many steps. Another very unpleasant note at arrival: a person for check‑in asked for 25 € in fees and 10 € for the tourist tax, fees not mentioned in the total room price that was paid directly to Booking as I always do, but never with additional fees. Because the payment transaction wasn’t successful, they contacted me again after two days asking for this amount in an angry tone, saying if I didn’t pay they would inform Booking and the authorities. I know Vernazza and the Cinque Terre, I live in Liguria, and I think in the future I will be much more careful and definitely won’t use certain channels. Regards, Claudia

“SERVIZIO PESSIMO”

There was zero chance to talk to a human until check‑in (hoping someone would eventually appear). We were asked for a €10 deposit and then unexpectedly a €25 payment for being taken from the station to the accommodation (an option imposed by automated messages). I asked for clarification and got “I don’t set the rules, I’m not the boss.” The accommodation itself was fine as in the photos, but the service was red‑flagged!

“Watch out - not a good place”

We ran into a massive hassle from the start: the check‑in was a nightmare and we never received any instructions on how to get the key, even though we had told them what time we would arrive. We ended up writing the directions ourselves while standing in front of the door. On the second day the key wouldn’t work at all. We called the office, and a young local man was sent out, but he couldn’t open the door either. It was 4 pm, we were in wet swimsuits and getting cold. The office told us to wait an hour for a technician. After a cold hour the technician arrived, still couldn’t open the door, and we were told to wait another 90 minutes for someone who could finally let us in. When we asked how the company could compensate us, they suggested it was probably our fault for breaking the lock. Check the reviews for Vernazza Design Rooms; their other places have the same bad reviews. After we left we received a message offering a 30 % discount on our next visit if we would give them a 10 in the review.

They took a photo of the credit card and also asked us to pay a 25 € check‑in fee on their behalf! The faucet was leaking. The room was not the one shown in the photo.
