We went on a cycling holiday; the route through the heath started right at the next corner, which was great. The secure bike‑parking was very convenient, as were the tour recommendations at the front desk. The only drawback: the pool is too small and not really suitable for swimming, but combined with the sauna it was acceptable.

The hotel offered a generous swimming pool and extra bike‑parking and charging space. Breakfast was okay. However, there was no welcome water in the room, the bathrobe cost extra (or was still in the laundry), and the path through the basement to the wellness area was awkward. The sauna was out of order.

Breakfast was excellent in the snacking area. The bike paths through the Lüneburg Heath were wonderful. Afterwards we relaxed in the wellness area, especially in the sauna. A restful holiday for us.

The breakfast selection was good, and the butter‑slicing machine was a nice touch. The range of options was large. What I missed were small snacks and cakes at breakfast. The saunas were good. The bar staff were under‑staffed; it always took a while to place orders until the area was cleared. The pool was too small – four laps and you’re at the opposite edge. I swam a few circles, but as a cooling pool after the sauna it was fine. There was no water in the sauna, which I normally expect to be supplied.

The lady at reception was very friendly, the breakfast staff were somewhat inattentive and a bit lackluster, yet the young man with dark hair was very friendly and balanced it out; the breakfast itself was good. The floor in the room was dirty, we had to shower in the bathtub because there was no grab bar for safer exit, the night guard pointed us to the charging station on the parking lot even though we were hotel guests with a proper charging card – not a pleasant experience. The dress code for the restaurant seemed a bit excessive for the vibe, so we chose to eat outside instead, which was a bit of a disappointment.
