The location is very close to the Historic District and the staff were very friendly. The bed was comfortable. I was not familiar with the area, so that was my own fault. I knew the hotel was on the cheaper side for that location and that it was a ‘discount’ stay. The reviews seemed good, and I wasn’t expecting a name‑brand hotel given the price. However, the room was not very clean: mold was on the windows, the door hanger was broken, the toilet roll holder was broken, and there was no drain stopper in the bathroom sink. Mildew could be seen down the drain. The towels had stains. The room smelled like smoke—though smoking isn’t allowed—and mold. Paint was peeling off the walls. Dirt had built up in the corners of the bathroom. Mold was present in the refrigerator’s freezer compartment. The worst part was finding a roach crawling in the bed very late at night. We almost left, but it was too late to find another hotel. The staff changed the sheets. We stayed for most of the day and left as early as we could to travel home. I understand this isn’t a five‑star hotel, but the advertising is very misleading. It’s not luxury by any means. The price per night was very cheap, yet the cleanliness was lacking. I could have tolerated the shabbiness of the room, but the roach, the smell, and the overall cleanliness were a real disappointment.

The location is close to the historical district. The elevator was clearly broken in some way, so we took the stairs every day and there was a giant toenail that never got picked up in the stairwell. Breakfast was a complete joke: nasty coffee, cereal, stale muffins. The only “hot” item was the mid waffles. Basically they only provided carbs, no protein, fruits, or veggies. I paid too much for that trash breakfast.

The bed was comfy, but the biggest let‑down was that the pool was missing. We noticed a musty smell when we arrived, the elevator looked like it needed a check, the fridge didn’t get very cold, the TV remote only worked half the time, and the water pressure was terrible.

The staff were very kind and made sure any problems were resolved so guests stayed happy. I think breakfast ends a bit too early; I went downstairs at 09:05 to get something to eat and they were already packing up. It would help if they stayed open for at least another hour or mentioned the hours at the front desk when checking in. I also find it a bit excessive to charge $50 per pet, especially since the place is already pet friendly; I understand damages may occur, but guests should get that back if there are no issues. I had to pay more on top of what I already paid, and I wish I had known ahead of time so I could have budgeted better. The elevator inspection was expired this month and hadn’t been checked, which was another concern. Some of the hotel room items were broken and scratched—not too bad, but not well maintained—and the AC in the room was complicated; it wouldn’t stay on or it would get too hot.
