Located in Fira's central area, metres from the main square and the Caldera side, New Haroula features a traditionally built design, an outdoor pool, and a poolside bar surrounded by a garden with bougainvilleas. The hotel offers continental buffet breakfasts with local flavours and seasonal products, air-conditioned rooms with fridges, satellite TV, and free WiFi, and private balconies overlooking the gardens and pool.

The team was incredibly welcoming and helped me navigate the town; they even had a taxi ready for me at 6 am when I needed to catch a flight. The only hiccup was on the first day when I had to stay in my room for several hours and the maid kept knocking; she even came in to clean because I didn’t answer the door quickly enough while I was naked. A “do not disturb” sign on the knob might help.

The location is fantastic, right near everything. Nothing else to complain about – we really liked this hotel.

The family were very welcoming and helpful. The room and terrace were lovely The pool area is very nice The breakfast was very good The staff were happy to make a cup of tea for us. The location was close to everything but also not too noisy. The bathroom water and drain were a bit smelly
