Gasthof Hirschenwirt

“War super, es hat alles wunderbar gepasst1”

A lovely room, a very friendly reception and very friendly staff. Dinner and breakfast at the Hirschenwirt were excellent. The covered parking spot for the motorcycle was optimal. Nothing to complain about.

The hotel sits beside a stream in the middle of town yet remains quiet, the room was fairly spacious and the breakfast buffet acceptable; on the downside it isn’t barrier‑free, the bathroom looks neglected with rust on the shower screen and lime stains in the sink, toilet and bathtub, and I consider the over €190 per night charge for two people far too high for that level.

“Friendly, comforting, highly recommended base, for exploring this beautiful part of Austria.”

A centuries‑old family‑run inn with plenty of character, located in a picturesque Styrian village. The owners are friendly, attentive, and the food is good. It’s in the village centre with great views and walks nearby. There’s no air conditioning, but the thick walls keep the European heatwave at bay, so we left the windows open; there are no fly or mosquito screens. The room lacks a coffee or tea station, a bar fridge would be nice for cooling water and milk, and there’s no reading lamp close to the bed.

The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Nothing else.

“A very pleasant traditional guest house in a beautiful area”

The guesthouse was very pleasant, very charming with traditional rooms. Lovely position with easy parking and a small river running by. We stayed 3 nights to visit the Austrian GP, it is about a 40 minute drive but the views in the valley are well worth the drive. Breakfast and evening meals very satisfying and the local beer is great, a very warm reception by the family owners, would definitely return. Towels could be upgraded and lighting in the bathroom is a bit dim
