I was heading to VSSC for an interview, so the 4‑5 km distance to the area made it easy to hop on a bus from Shangmukham to Veli; Shangmukham beach is just a short walk away. Most nearby places only take offline bookings, so keep that in mind. If you only eat veg, avoid this spot because it’s a fishermen’s neighbourhood that mainly serves non‑veg (mostly beef); instead look for a place near Thrivandram Central, about 4‑5 km from here.

The freedom to move around was great, but the car parking area left something to be desired.

I stayed at Montcello Hotel near TRV Domestic Airport with my family and it was a huge letdown: the room was filthy, the bedsheets were unclean, and hygiene was clearly ignored. We found cockroaches everywhere and even bed bugs, making the stay unbearable. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, especially families, and honestly I disliked everything about it.
