The villa looked gorgeous and the pool was beautiful, the room came with a bathtub, a comfy bed and a TV, and the gym’s treadmill offered a spectacular view. The beach was clean with orderly loungers, golf carts were always ready to whisk you away, the staff were polite and the cocktails tasty, while the interior design impressed everywhere.
Unfortunately, we chose this hotel solely for its kids’ club, playground and water slides, but the club offered no real entertainment—just a lady watching to keep the children from running off, a tiny room with very few, mostly broken toys, so my 3.5‑year‑old fled to the adjoining restaurant after twenty minutes. The playground and slides were out in the sun with no shade, leaving them empty both day and night; essentially the children’s facilities exist only on paper and are poorly executed. Service in the restaurant was sluggish, our dinner and drink orders came in slowly and with mistakes, and the food wasn’t very flavorful. There were no water coolers anywhere, which felt odd for a pricey resort—you had to ask someone to get water. On the beach, buoys were set up just about four metres from the shore, limiting swimming space, which is disappointing if it’s a permanent setup. The resort had no shop on site and was far from town. We also had a bad experience with the shuttle to the city centre: despite reserving seats in advance and confirming several times, we arrived four minutes late and the shuttle left without us. While we were partly at fault, we stayed in contact (even via the Vietnamese app Zalo) and were only slightly delayed. Later, when trying to book seats back to the centre, the front desk told us all spots were already taken, despite being told the night before that it was fine as long as we confirmed at reception. It seems odd that such a large hotel can’t run two buses given the demand. This whole shuttle fiasco felt disrespectful, especially since it was my husband’s birthday weekend and we were very disappointed.
