The spot was spot on for our weekend, right on foot to everything we wanted. The room was tiny but spotless and cozy, and the whole place was quiet. Carla, the owner, sent clear instructions about checking in and parking before we arrived, so everything went smoothly. No real problems at all.

There’s no food on site, but a couple of cafés are very close by. Parking was a nightmare—hard to find a spot and pricey.

“Excellent place to stay for a short visit to Plymouth.”

I booked Edgcumbe Guest House at the last minute, but it matched my needs perfectly. Its location was great for the seafront, the Hoe, and the Barbican. Parking was hassle‑free thanks to the owners’ prepaid 24‑hour “pay and display” tickets, and I never had to drive more than 100 m away. The room was small but had everything I needed for a short visit with family, it was very clean, and the shower/loo was modern. The owners responded quickly to my messages. My trip fell during one of the UK’s hottest heatwaves, so a small fridge would have helped keep drinks cool. A slightly larger armchair would have been nice to relax in. The faux‑leather headboard was starting to peel, so washable fabric would be better. My room was on the ground floor facing the street, and a reflective coating on the windows kept people from seeing in during the day, but it became transparent at night, so I had to pull the curtains tight earlier than usual.

The location was good. Street‑level traffic was loud, and the bathroom was small but usable.
