The bed was comfy, there was a TV, the breakfast was lovely, and it’s close to the Headingley cricket ground. There’s plenty of parking at the back, and as a disabled guest I requested a ground‑floor room, which they supplied.

The location and price were good. The place was dated, but I knew that beforehand.

We’ve stayed at Butlers before, and what we liked most was the friendly and helpful staff and the really good breakfast. This time we got a great room that opened onto the car park. The hotel needs a makeover, but the bedding and towels were spotless. We visit when Headingley hosts cricket; it’s a 5‑minute walk to the ground. Parking is free and behind the hotel. The shower in the room was not very good—just a trickle of water came out.
