The toilet is dirty.

The staff were gentle and pleasant. However, the bathtub and wallpaper were peeling, there were long hairs and stains on the sheets, and there was a dust‑like smell that seemed to come from poor ventilation. When we opened the window and left, the dust smell disappeared. The lighting was also dim; perhaps it was a smoking room, and while I understand the price is high for Tokyo, I wish it had been cleaner.

“acceptable”

Not being able to adjust the AC temperature was painful; I expected that at weekday rates, but at weekend rates I wished the walls were a bit cleaner.

“臭いさえなければねえ”

The hotel is right near the station and the building feels solid enough that we didn’t notice the earthquake at all. The room was non‑smoking so there was no tobacco smell, but the shower curtain smelled bad, which was the biggest annoyance.
