The breakfast was excellent. Staying in a real castle, not a replica, was truly authentic and set in a gorgeous park. The bathroom was decent, but the shower felt like a classic British model. The castle stay itself is amazing, so that’s a plus.

Mooie entourage. Prachtig gemeubileerd. En mooie ligging. Een unieke ervaring en zeker de moeite waard om te bezoeken. Tip: ben je niet 100% mobiel, kies een kamer op de binnenplaats. Het kasteel heeft veel trappen en gangen. Het ontbijt. Niet het eten zelf maar de prijs. Het betreft een leuk ontbijt menu, MAARR wil je iets extra's, zoals bijvoorbeeld pap, moet er een pond extra betaald worden. Voor deze prijs € 28,- p.p. zou je alles inclusief verwachten. We returned for a second visit after staying here last March, so we knew what to expect and we weren’t let down. The castle itself is fantastic, with plenty of rooms and corridors to wander, and the surrounding grounds are lovely. We enjoyed plenty of sunshine, which made the experience even better. Every staff member was excellent—friendly and helpful. I recognized several from my previous stay, though there were some new faces as well. A special shout‑out to Dean at reception, who was very friendly and happy to chat whenever he wasn’t busy. We also saw the castle’s famous cat, Poppet, roaming freely around the castle and grounds, which was delightful. The meals were wonderful, all well cooked with generous portions. We’ll definitely stay here again in the future and highly recommend it. There was nothing to fault.

Generous breakfast, pleasant welcome & comfortable, well appointed bedroom. The character of the property interesting. My husband found the uneven floors rather tricky, although the lift was useful
