This place is spectacular—a true gem. Staying here made me happy and serene. The architecture is outstanding, a refuge and a welcomed change from other accommodations. You’re staying in an architect’s home, which is fabulously managed. Great communication with the manager. We would come again and stay longer.
“A true Ceylon Gem”
The lady owner and the onsite caretaker were brilliant, very attentive and caring; they both showed a true lovelyness, helping me. Going above and beyond to care for me as a guest, making me feel very at ease and relaxed. The building was designed by a talented architect and it shows! It felt like a hideaway where a novelist would write their next book, beautiful cabin feel. Very happy with my stay and would love to book again in the future.
“Very relaxing place to stay, quiet and breezy”
The house staff is extremely courteous and helpful. In some other review the staff was described as unfriendly but this must have been somebody else because Mangala was very friendly and made the most amazing fruit platter for us at breakfast. The house has a very light footprint, with air flowing through from front to rear, a large veranda and the entire façade made up of sliding doors. The seamless transition from inside to outside is very pleasant. There are only two minor things that could be improved: drinking water in glass instead of plastic bottles and as the property is on the water, some bottles and plastic bags get stuck in the water plants immediately beyond the garden. Those should be fished out. I would also try to make a larger gap between the trees facing the water so that you can enjoy the view more
“Außergewöhnliches Apartment!!!!”
We felt at home for three days. We enjoyed the quiet by the river and loved sitting on the balcony watching the monkeys and lizards. It’s a place to unwind. The price is really good for what you get. Our host was so attentive and super nice. When I forgot a medication, she drove me to the hospital and managed everything—appointment, round‑trip, pharmacy. I’ve never experienced that level of hospitality. The city was just a few minutes’ walk away. She recommended a restaurant that was super tasty. The city has few tourists, but you see the real life of the locals here. I can recommend Ganga Langa 100 % and everything liked us.
We stayed for two nights here; the place is very unique, calm & cozy. We were able to spend those two days feeling just as at home, with freedom, privacy & excellent service. The room is very spacious & has a unique vibe & all the facilities (hot water, hair dryer, good water supply, coffee & tea makers, etc.) the concept of this place truly blends with nature. And there is a great river view from the room balcony through the greens, which is actually very soothing and mind‑relaxing. Thanks to this place we were able to get some fresh air & feel the nature. Highly recommended for anyone who truly loves to spend their own time with nature & coziness & especially who loves to take a break from a busy hectic day‑to‑day life. Moreover, the architecture of this place is phenomenal & every detail gives a natural & mind‑relaxing vibe, which is a bit hard to explain but which you must experience. Also, since this is located in Moratuwa you don’t need to go far to experience your leisure time with nature & as well as this place is very convenient from every aspect. (there is a supermarket nearby, as well as only 5 min to Moratuwa town)
