The accommodation was overall clean and tidy, with towels provided, a comfortable bed, and a quiet environment. Although there was no air‑conditioning in the room, the weather didn’t make it necessary. When the window was opened, some outside noise seeped in, but with the window closed the room stayed pleasantly quiet. Breakfast was tasty and varied, offering a selection of cold dishes and fruit. Coffee and tea were good, but the menu only included cold items; there was no egg, hot food, or hot grilled sausage, so the breakfast felt somewhat lacking in that regard. The biggest shortcoming was the lack of information for guests. At arrival, there was no one at the reception. After we notified them that we had arrived, a staff member handed us the room key without any explanation of where our room was located. We had to go back to ask for directions, and even then we only received a vague guide. The room contained no informational material: we couldn’t find details about the breakfast location and time, Wi‑Fi access, or other hotel services, so we had to figure those out ourselves. Breakfast also lacked a proper welcome and guidance; it wasn’t clearly indicated when and where it could be taken, and the staff offered no meaningful assistance or directions. Overall, the staff’s communication and guest information need significant improvement.

The room was huge and clean, and we could check in early, which was a big plus for us cyclists. Dinner was tasty and cheap.

The rooms were very large, spacious and clean. Breakfast was excellent with a wide selection of bread, savory items, pastries and fresh fruit, and the hotel was convenient for Gesäuse and Kalkalpen parks. Small details need fixing: the curtains kept slipping off their guides because the stops were missing, the soap dispenser in the shower didn’t work properly, and the mirror light bulb was burnt out. We mentioned these to the staff but nothing was repaired. Apart from the very friendly lady who greeted us at check‑in, the rest of the team was not very smiling or welcoming. At dinner there was no smile, and when it got dark while we were still finishing our meal, nobody bothered to turn on a light.

Breakfast was good and the staff were very friendly. I was attending a concert of the summer festival, so the location was ideal. On the downside, it was a noise nightmare: church bells rang every fifteen minutes until midnight, and from 5 am onward heavy traffic rolled past the room (the top floor opened onto the street). I got a “time‑travel” room that reminded me of vacations in the 80s with my parents—nice nostalgic touch—but the price‑performance ratio no longer adds up.
