A nice property in a lovely spot, clean and tidy, and I’d return.

Everything needed for a relaxing stay was available: the site was well kept and organised for autumn, the country‑house hotel bar and restaurant, car park, camping pitch in the big field, plants, trees, gardens, nature walks, and local animals. The bedrooms, however, need a few maintenance jobs to keep the old countryside hotel updated.

Breakfast was extra but the Full English was a must‑try; using Balnoon we explored SW Cornwall, visiting friends in Helston and Falmouth, walking around Land’s End, Prussia Cove, and Godrevy Point, and seeing St Ives—its beach cafés are great for dinner and the Tate, though an acquired taste, had excellent scones. The hospitality of Gemma, Jonny and Cruise made us feel very welcome. The only drawback was the high parking fees in St Ives.

The hotel was warm, affable, and had a nice family feel.

The owners and staff were fantastic, extremely polite, friendly and helpful, brilliant. Nothing was wrong, everything was lovely.
