The location was amazing, surrounded by mountains, and a very nice lady ran the place and prepared an amazing (but very simple) mountain breakfast.

I had an enormous crush on the welcome! We didn’t speak the same language as the host, but her smile was enough for us to get along. She even accompanied us to dinner at the neighbors just next door, where the unique menu was very good. The house is in a small hamlet, surrounded by incredibly kind locals and mountains. The accommodation is 40 minutes on foot from the center of Theth, but that isolated, warm feel was something we loved, and the walk is pleasant. It’s also well‑placed for starting hikes.

The view of the mountains was beautiful, the owners were infinitely kind, and the room was very clean. The road to the room was a disaster with a lower car, rough and rocky. At night there was no power, and in the morning there was still no power, so we couldn’t charge our phones.

We found the room tidy with a comfy bed, and the host was warm, even though she didn’t speak English; she used gestures and Google Translate to communicate. The price seemed reasonable compared to other options in Theth. Dinner could be ordered at the guest house for €30 for two, but the menu was a large platter of assorted dishes, soup, and dessert, with limited choice. The food’s quality and quantity matched the price, though cheaper spots exist in town. After a long hike, it was convenient to dine on site without traveling. The apartment sits far from the town center, which I expected to be a nature advantage but it wasn’t. The property is small, lacking farm animals, and surrounded by non‑romantic village items like garages and old stuff. The first morning we woke at 7 am to a harsh noise, likely from a generator; sound insulation was poor, and we could hear every neighbor. Breakfast was included but always cold, with no coffee, and served inside the kitchen so we couldn’t enjoy the view. The balcony had only one chair for two people.

The owners were super friendly and helpful – the breakfast was great and plenty for us – free drinking water in the garden! – fortunately there was a blanket in the wardrobe. The owners don’t speak English at all, but it’s easy to communicate with a translator nowadays. The road… don’t book it unless you have a high chassis. We were driving a Hyundai i20 and damaged the car’s side sill because of the rocks. Breakfast starts at 7am, which is late because there will be plenty of people on the trail already. We didn’t ask for an earlier time – both lights next to the bed were not working and the main light was weak, so it was quite dark.
