Only a 12‑minute walk from the station, the pub part was quiet, the pub food was available, and the rural setting near the Mersey was nice.

“Rundown”

The staff were friendly and gave us extra pillows, but the room was grubby, the walls had several marks, the shower was subpar, and overall the place clearly needs a refurbishment.

“The night before my wedding”

I’ve stayed in many Premier Inns, and the only thing I liked was the pub food. The shower was filthy, the shower head was mouldy, the bath was dirty, soap dispensers were nearly empty, and the water flow was terrible—you had to stand in the shower for 20 minutes to wash your hair. The room felt outdated for a Premier Inn, it was extremely hot, the window opened only a crack, there was no air‑conditioning, the bed was uncomfortable and I could feel every spring, and we arrived late so there wasn’t much time to complain. TV reception was awful, buffering constantly, not what I expect from a Premier Inn. I was highly disappointed; it was only £58 for a night, but I wanted something more memorable before my wedding day.
