Hokkaido Hotel

The best thing I can say about this place is that it's in obihiro. If you're in obihiro, it's.fine. I found the staff to be not that nice or not that helpful by Japanese standards. The onsen was.fine. The grounds are nice. The food is.fine. Not worth the extra money. Overall a nice place that's coasting on its history. I'll look elsewhere

“歴史のある良く工夫された帯広地区を代表ホテルに泊まった。”

The interior design inside the hotel looks like it was done by a famous American architect reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright, complete with impressive paintings in key spots; the large inner garden, surrounded by well‑kept lawns and trees, is beautiful and makes meals enjoyed there taste even better; both breakfast and dinner are thoughtfully prepared, with the Japanese kaiseki on day three being especially wonderful; the local plant‑based hot spring in Obihiro is also a fascinating feature.

The hotel feels like a countryside resort tucked in the woods, a popular spot for local weddings and banquets, and it’s easy to get a taxi there; however, because it’s far from the centre, there isn’t much to see around except the walking trail.

“Nice hotel in Obihiro”

The onsen was good, the hotel sits in the town center, and breakfast was solid. The pillows were hard; we requested replacements, but those were hard too. Staff tried to help us find nearby restaurants, but most of them didn’t speak another language, so communication was limited.
