“Disappointed that my favorite mid-range priced hotel chain was unwelcoming, not as clean as other comfort inns and didn’”
I appreciated the high ceilings and the hot tub in the room, but after years of staying at Comfort Inn properties, this visit was extremely disappointing. The room had mold in the drawers, a significant shower leak, and a mini refrigerator in very poor condition. The front‑desk employee was rude and unwelcoming. After checkout, I unexpectedly had my period, which left menstrual blood on a sheet and two towels. The hotel kept my entire $100 refundable deposit, and when I called, they said they had pictures of my “destruction of their property,” a humiliating and disproportionate claim. A hotel can charge for genuine damage, but I expected an itemized explanation of the actual damage and cost, not a blanket loss of $100. I asked for documentation supporting the charge and was disappointed that the situation wasn’t handled professionally or respectfully. The condition of the room and the post‑checkout handling left me feeling embarrassed and very disappointed, and I hope management reviews both its maintenance standards and staff communication during disputes.
