Melies Hotel

The location is excellent, very quiet except for a few noisy dogs at night, but they’re outside the hotel fence. The staff are very friendly and efficient, and the restaurant is well run even with low customer numbers. Nothing in particular to complain about, maybe the road signage could be better given the hotel’s tucked‑away position.

I added this hotel to my list of favorite places in Greece! If I ever visit the central part of the Peloponnese, I’ll only stay here. It’s a family-run hotel that treats each guest individually. On the first day we asked for an early breakfast because we had a long trip planned; they not only provided it, but also served the rest of the days earlier than the usual time without any extra request. On the arrival day the hotel’s restaurant was hosting a Greek wedding, loud music and everything… but after 11 pm the noise was lowered for the guests, even though the wedding kept going. The hotel itself is a delight: it’s about 5 km from Sparta, so it’s very quiet and peaceful. Traditional stone houses with a few rooms, a green walking area, pine trees, fresh mountain air and bright stars at night. From the second floor the views of Sparta and Mistra are amazing; we could see Mistra from our balcony every day. The rooms are very spacious, even have a kitchen where you can cook something. The hotel has a great pool, towels and cold water are brought to guests. The restaurant serves European cuisine at very reasonable prices. Many thanks to the owners for having such a place! The location is stunning, the hotel is superb, the welcome is very warm, the room is huge for just two people but very comfortable, the breakfast is excellent. Nothing to add.

“Hôtel de grande qualité”

We liked the size of the double room, which is actually a suite, the view over the plain and the pool, the quiet of the place day and night, and the kindness and attentiveness of the staff.
