“Suasananya tenang”
The shop spots were good, but it was a bit messy.
“À FUIR, sauf si vous recherchez l’insalubrité”
I’m not used to writing bad reviews, but it’s hard to find anything positive about the place because we had a very bad experience. We’ve been traveling in Asia for three months and never had issues with our reservations, they were always fairly accurate. We arrived at the hotel and discovered the filth in the two rooms we’d booked for the night. We don’t demand perfect cleanliness and have slept in uncomfortable, questionable hygiene places before, but this isn’t a lack of resources—it’s clear negligence. The sheets were dirty and so black you wondered if they had ever been washed. The walls were dirty too, with stains, dampness, and one room had a “no smoking” sign while it clearly smelled of cigarette. The bathroom was no better: the mirror clearly hadn’t been cleaned in ages, and the tiles were the same. It’s shameful to offer such a service and expect it to be normal. We had already paid for the reservation, so we tried to get a refund or cancel with hotel staff, but they kindly explained they couldn’t cancel. I want to emphasize that we didn’t touch anything; we had no intention of using the sheets. We spent more than an hour negotiating but were just passed from person to person, with a boss saying he wasn’t the boss, and the owner laughing almost at our expense when we asked for a refund without making a scene. In short, we couldn’t get a refund, so after all that we decided to leave this unsanitary place and left feeling totally ripped off.
The staff were friendly and tried to help as much as possible, even though they didn’t speak much English. It was a 10‑minute walk to Juanda station, making it super easy to visit attractions. It was close to the MONAS monument, cathedral, and mosque. There were plenty of shops, restaurants, and ATMs nearby. They provided shower gel and shampoo. The TV and air conditioning worked. The shower only had cold water, there was no toilet paper, no free water refills, the bathroom was dirty, and the towels/sheets were grubby despite being clean. The location was terrible; it’s down an alleyway in the market, so it’s hard to get to it. Also, at certain times they locked the gates to some entrances, so you had to wander around trying to find a way in or out, which could take a lot of time and energy. The Wi‑Fi was inconsistent. The walls in the room were dirty. I’d recommend spending a little more and staying somewhere else.
This hotel is only used for emergencies when you can’t find accommodation in Jakarta, so it’s your only option. I can’t stand this property.
Very dirty, the bathroom didn’t work, everything was old… the pillows were disgusting, everything looked poorly washed… it was very late, so we stayed, but the next day we cancelled and moved to another hotel. Really never go, it’s scary.
