I was disappointed that we could only use the beautiful boat for a very short time because our flight was delayed before the stay, but it was great that the host Nienke offered us an extra day later as compensation.

“Tolle Erfahrung, mit bewusst weniger Luxus”

The houseboat was nice and had a good basic setup, but there was no ventilation, which contradicted the sustainability claim and made it practically impossible to stay inside during the day (Sneekweek); the rooftop lounge was a good idea, yet it lacked sun protection and was too hot in the daytime.

“We could only stay for 2 days, would have loved to stay longer.”

The location, view, proximity to Sneek, easy parking at the end of August, spacious rooms, and design all made for a perfect stay.

The boat house was large and roomy, but there was no clean tap water—only filtered water—and the exterior was full of spiders and webs, with windows so dirty that you could barely see the water and beautiful surroundings from inside; the house smelled unpleasantly of cheap plastic or, if you know the automotive industry, of fiberglass; the toilet was so bad that you had to do your business in a bag, which was not my experience.

“Heerlijk genoten aan het Sneekermeer”

I highly recommend this fantastic houseboat at a fantastic location; the boat is spacious and open, giving a wonderful outdoor feeling, and the owners are very friendly and provided very useful tips for a day out in the area.
