“Good staff, good food, enjoyable and easy to find”

The spot was great for catching onward transport, but the road noise outside kept me up all night.

“On the whole it was nice.”

Its location was the main plus. It was too close to the main road where ambulances and police passed under the spot where our room was.

“Good stopover en route to France.”

We booked our rooms in order to take an early morning ferry to France so the location was key and it worked perfectly. The accommodation was what you might expect for a pub with rooms - perfectly adequate with good parking and not far from the town centre. The windows were a bit dirty and difficult to open for fresh air. Carpets in the stairs and corridors could do with a deep clean or replacement but the room was ok
