I loved it—great location tucked behind a popular beach (el aquimista), no hill or stairs to climb, and the family who run it are super friendly. Once you’re checked in it feels like you live there. The room was cleaned daily and towels were replaced every other day. It featured a wrap‑around terrace with seating and a hammock, and the room itself was a large open‑plan studio—bathroom and shower share the same space, separated by a half wall, so keep that in mind if you’re sharing. If you’re with friends you might need to leave the room when the other person needs the bathroom! I had no issues, but if you love dogs keep in mind there are a couple around the property (and town!) who are friendly but might bark at you, which could scare people who aren’t comfortable with dogs. Hot water is minimal, but I didn’t mind since I was only showering after the beach. The Wi‑Fi is very average, so don’t expect to be making any urgent work calls, but that wasn’t a problem for me.
“Great value - comfortable, cute, clean - a peaceful place to stay in Zipolite.”
We found the place great and would definitely return! The room was roomy, spotless, and the AC was superb – the bed felt incredibly comfy. Each room had plenty of space around it, with benches and a hammock for extra seating, giving us privacy. The property sits in the trees a few minutes from the beach, which let us sleep peacefully without any party noise. The only downside was the low water pressure, which made washing long hair take a little longer.
“Fantastic value Near the Beach”
The property is stunning, even more so than the photos suggest. Our room was huge, far bigger than expected, and we had two terraces and two beds. Hot water and powerful AC were available, and the distance from the beach was just right for a chill, quiet stay. The owners are incredibly friendly, and the room gets cleaned daily. Alquimista’s beach is less than five minutes on foot, just down the road. The hot water can get scalding, and the Wi‑Fi wasn’t strong enough for a video call, but neither is essential in Zipolite where the aim is to unplug (the heat is almost 24/7).
“Rest, relaxation and tranquility.”
A beautifully designed and landscaped resort hotel. Each room is a casita terraced up a hillside. The staff were very friendly and took good care of me. The site is very quiet on the edge of the village, a 5‑minute walk to the beach and a 10‑minute walk to the center of the village. There are restaurants and cafés across the road. The only downside is that there are no common spaces to interact with other guests.
Second stay at Casa Flor de Mar, and it was just as wonderful as the first. The owners, who live on site, welcomed me with a smile. The garden is very calm and well kept. The place is only a five‑minute walk from the beach, yet still far enough from Zipolite’s buzz to feel like a true haven of peace. I’ll gladly come back!
