I was satisfied with the staff, who were very friendly, and the location, close to the city centre with parking nearby; the city centre is easily reachable on foot from both sides, but the cleanliness needs improvement, especially in the shared bathroom.

The venue is actually a popular pub with quirky rooms that feel like a no‑pretension 1950s hotel; it’s well‑located for visiting Salisbury and its price is modest compared to other accommodations in the area, and the staff are helpful on site. However, there is significant night‑time noise, the mattresses are outrageously tired, the equipment is Spartan (no table or chair in my room), the window isn’t repaired, the thick carpet is from another century, the shared toilets are on every floor, there was no response to questions asked before arrival, no breakfast option, no parking, and finding a spot nearby is difficult.

The staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions, and the location is great near Salzburg’s center and the cathedral. However, the music from the bar below the rooms was loud; the first night it was just radio, which was tolerable, but the second night live music made the whole room literally shake. The hallway door to the balcony stayed open all the time, so cold wind kept blowing in (the door from the room was also in bad condition, with a few centimeters of gap between the floor and the door). A little cleaning would make the experience much better.

“You really have to give attention to cleanliness and the plumbing. Other than that you have a gem.”

The bed was comfortable and clean. 1. Carpets were very dirty 2. Basin drain blocked 3. Shower did not heat sufficiently 4. Room heating only worked for one of the 4 days I stayed there
