We had a lovely stay at Bay of Islands Gateway Motel & Apartments. Julie and Martin, the owner‑operators, genuinely cared about us, were friendly, welcoming, helpful, and very accommodating when our travel plans changed. Our apartment was clean, spacious, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The location was perfect for exploring Paihia and the wider Bay of Islands. Julie and Martin’s personal service made the stay extra special. We would gladly return and highly recommend the motel to anyone visiting the area.

I had a wonderful stay here and everything truly exceeded my expectations. The accommodation had everything we needed, and you can feel how thoughtful and well‑prepared everything is. The place was very clean, which made our stay even more comfortable. Julie and Martin were incredibly kind and welcoming, and they gave us plenty of helpful advice for our trip, which we really appreciated.

“Warm hospitality at its best!”

Everything, especially the warm welcome from the hostess, was exactly what we needed to make the most of our stay at such a special place. Nothing else to add.

“Comfortable accomodation”

The suite was very roomy with a nice kitchenette and was serviced daily. The owners were extremely helpful with local advice and which island trip to book. We were comfortably holed up for 24 hours during a tropical storm, so no complaints. Personally, I found the bed too soft, but that’s just a preference.
