HOTEL NOIR Kagoshima Chuo Station

I was impressed by how close the place is—just a 10‑minute walk from Kagoshima station—and the self‑check‑in worked smoothly. The staff were friendly and the rooms stayed clean and tidy. The only drawback was the lack of English communication; a little more basic English from the receptionist would have made things a lot easier, especially when I asked about the washing machine.

The décor leaned heavily into black, giving the hotel a calm and slightly modern vibe. Unfortunately, the staff’s attitude was disappointing—no greetings at check‑in or check‑out, and they didn’t even look at guests. I thought maybe it was just the foreign staff, but at least a simple hello would have helped. Also, the toilet bowl is too small; it’s so cramped that even a person of average height might spill when sitting down. If the bathroom isn’t improved, I won’t stay here again.
