The place sits in a great spot and the rooms are spotless, so that’s top tier. It’s a wet pub, so you won’t find real food for dinner or breakfast, and parking is just fine. The main gripe is there’s no breakfast. Also, every way you get to the rooms involves climbing some pretty steep stairs, which is fine for us but could be tough if you have mobility issues. We’ve stayed here before and sometimes feel a little out of place, especially when sitting in the pub. The staff are polite and helpful, not overly friendly but that’s how it feels. I’ll definitely come back.

My wife and I were both amazed by the room we got; it was far better than we’d imagined. The only nitpick is that the toilet was too close to the towel rail if you’re picky.

Everything made my overnight stop a pleasure—from the warm welcome to the spotless bedroom, all the amenities were there and the price was reasonable. Nothing to complain about.

The bedroom was lovely, clean, newly decorated, and the bed was comfy. There wasn’t any hot food, but there were a variety of filled cob rolls, sausage rolls, and tasty pork pies. A solid stopover on the road.
