The hotel is a beautiful gem in Datong’s city center, with a private garden to relax in, and my room was large and well equipped. The staff were friendly, the place super clean, and it felt very “family”‑like. The location is great for visiting Datong’s historic center and sampling local food. Nothing was wrong—everything was perfect.

It’s located inside the ancient city walls, at the South Gate, in a quiet spot near the local restaurants. The room was spacious, cozy, with a wardrobe and a loft that had an extra bed. We never got to try the breakfast because we left very early for hikes.

The hotel is very typical and sits in the historic/tourist part of town. The hosts are charming even though they don’t speak a word of English. The street is safe, so no nuisances. The city vibe is truly worth seeing—it’s fantastic to experience in life! The rooms aren’t very clean, with many paint or other marks on walls and floors sometimes. Breakfast is very traditional, with very few choices and 100 % salty, which for me is a negative, but it depends on taste.
